About T.O.F

Sam The Senior bringing all the conversation right to your computer or phone.

Here is where you will see periodic blog posts with a sketch relating to seniors. You can comment about the sketches you see with topics from Health to Hats (or bring up something different). I may weigh in from time to time, or answer any questions you have as best as I can. We treat this site and its participants with tolerance, no matter what background, religion, or sexual orientation one may have.

No politics, please, as we would like to stay united as seniors, and open to international seniors as well (thank goodness for Google Translate).

Don’t be shy, share a story and make a new friend; and tell an old friend about us.

  1. Seems like we constantly need to see a doctor for one reason or another!!

  2. The comic made me laugh. Last week I had a dermatologist appt on Tuesday and a urologist appt on Wednesday. I have a periodontal appt next Wednesday and I go to an orthopedic guy pretty regularly… I’m not really laughing… 😦

Anyway, this is a great idea and I hope its popularity grows and you become the Senior Facebook!

  3. As well as commiserating about the pains associated with being a senior, I hope we can share comments about the pleasures, as well. Look at it this way: if you have a doctor’s appointment, you’re still on the right side of the grass! Glad to make your acquaintance, Sam. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

  5. It was much easier when we were younger. All we needed was an annual check up. Now I need a plan book just for my doctors appointments.

  7. What a great idea! By right, all of the medical services would be completed by a Gerontologist but alas, not in the age of specialists… At any rate, the comic made me laugh. Thank you for that. I look forward to your future posts!

  8. January became Dr Month because of insurance purposes .I usually go to get a blood test and medical once a year also to get PSA results and dermatologist , urologist etc.
This year also going to get a colonoscopy so it’s been running from one to the other to the other.
Don’t like to go to doctors but due to the necessary evil do my rounds Once a year.
Hope this finds everyone in good health.

  9. Wondering how people are faring during this perilous time. I’ve not experienced anything remotely like this in my lifetime and I suspect that’s true for most everyone else on this site. We’re hunkered down in Rockland County, NY. Though we’re unaware of any kind of contact with people infected with the coronavirus, we’re still self-quarantining, for the most part. We’ve ordered from Whole Foods through Amazon Prime and we’re shocked at the excellent quality of the food. I’ve gotten fresh fish at a local fish store and requested that they bring the food out of the store and place it in my trunk. Just a few strategies we’ve employed. Good luck, folks.

  12. Hey Sam. Good morning. Welcome back. It’s time for my senior morning cocktail. Nothing better than a glass of apple cider vinegar and a Metamucil chaser to start the day. Cheers good health my friend. Larry
